Christy N. Altman

Mrs. Christy Nettles Altman, 56, wife of Carroll Altman, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Altman was born on September 5, 1969, in Sumter, South Carolina, the daughter of Hampton Wade Nettles and the late Brenda Joy Gardner Avin. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Carolina Technical College and previously worked with the South Carolina Department of Corrections as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. Mrs. Altman was a devoted homemaker who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

Surviving are her husband, Carroll Altman; daughter, Breanna (Landon) Jeffreys; son, Chance (Kristen) Welch; step-daughter, Amy (Merritt) Evans; grandchildren, Nicholas Evans, McKenna Grace Jeffreys, Montgomery Jeffreys and Owen Welch; sister, Lisa Nettles; special aunt, Mamie Perry; nieces, Ramsey Galloway and Amanda Nettles; step-mother, Betty Jean Nettles; other aunts, uncles and extended family.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Altman was preceded in death by her step-dad, O. D. Avin and her uncle, Carl Perry.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at  Carolina Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel.

Burial will follow at Power-Durant Cemetery, Durant Cemetery Road, Johnsonville, South Carolina.
