Danny Richard Broach, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Born March 19, 1942, in Florence, SC, he was the son of Mack Broach and Ruelee McAllister Broach and was lovingly raised by his devoted mother, whose strength and faith helped shape him into the man he became.
He grew up in the Coward community of Florence County, often sharing humorous stories from his youth. He proudly served 4 years in the United States Navy before returning home to marry the love of his life, Beth, in 1968. He instantly became a loving father figure to her four children and to their daughter born from their marriage.
Danny was a true jack-of-all-trades. He could build, engineer or repair almost anything. His abilities, steady strength and dependability was a blessing to his family.
Though raised in a Christian home, he accepted the Lord as a young adult and his faith became the foundation of his life. Ordained in 1989 as a Minister, he pastored several churches while working full-time, faithfully visiting the sick, encouraging others, and sharing God’s Word. He later retired from Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority, where he worked as a mechanic and bus driver, using every opportunity to minister to others.
He enjoyed NASCAR, riding his Honda Gold Wing with his men’s Christian fellowship group and in later years found contentment at home with his wife and his beloved dog, Charlie.
Surviving are his wife, Beth Huggins Broach of Scranton; daughters, Pam (Barry) Thompson and Robin (Graham) Matthews of Lake City and Susan (J.J.) Johnson of Salters; grandchildren, Ian Hewett of Florence, Ashley (Burton) Dixon of Murrells Inlet, Hunter (Martha) Thompson of Florence, Channing (Catie Loadholt) Matthews of Kingstree, Kimberly Parker of Scranton, Blake Matthews of Lake City, Jesse (Maecy) Matthews, of Henderson, NC, David Johnson and Eric (Kristina) Johnson of Salters; sisters Connie Lee Broach and Joyce B.
