David Eugene Southern

Mr. David Eugene Southern, 67, of Summerton, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at MUSC Health Orangeburg.

David was born on March 7, 1958, in Charlotte, NC, son of the late Eugene Ephriam Southern and Thelma Brinson Southern. He worked as a mortgage broker and bail bondsman. He was a loyal friend who loved good food and spending time playing pool. Though he had no surviving family, he was surrounded by a close circle of dear friends who became family in every sense of the word. Nancy (Tobby) Kennedy, Chris (Barbara) Rogers, and Ken (Denise) Burr stood by him through life’s highs and lows, sharing holidays, everyday moments, and unwavering support. Their bond was built on years of friendship, trust, and genuine care, and they remained faithfully by his side throughout his life.
